Kemira find further cost-cutting opportunities - Happy Christmas!

Kemira sent its employees home for the Christmas holidays with yet a further cost cutting and restructuring announcement.  In the middle of 2008 a cost-saving programme was announced with a target of saving EUR 50 million.  Now, Kemira has pulled another EUR 10 million out of the bag.  The additional savings are expected to be realised in 2009 and 2010.

In the announcement it is stated that Kemira has closed and will further close production capacity of its low-profitability polymer and paper chemicals.  No specific details were given.
