Kick the Habit - UN World Environment Day is Today! 5th June, 2008.

One of the main ways the United Nations tries to stimulate awareness of the environment is through its World Environment Day, which is held on the 5th June every year.

Thinking back over the last year - what have you implemented to meet the demands of today's market?

Looking forward, what will you do in 2008/2009? There is some activity by paper chemicals companies, but from the research of Canda International there is much to be done by companies to take a lead in meeting modern market demands. From product development, through the entire supply chain to the disposal or recycling of materials.

Do you?

  • Understand the carbon footprint of your operations and processes
  • Know what you can do to reduce emissions across the entire enterprise
  • Have an approach to meeting the needs of your market

New Publication: Technology Study on Developments in Tissue Chemicals and Chemical Treatment

Canda International (Nick Dunlop-Jones) has authored a new Pira International report on, 'Developments in Tissue Chemicals and Chemical Treatment'.

The priorities for tissue manufacturers are similar to the rest of the paper industry: reduce costs (including fibre and raw material costs), energy consumption and water usage, and increase environmental compliance and growth through new product development targeted at consumer value and product performance. These priorities drive the development of paper chemicals with products that bring strength, savings in processing costs and unique functional features. This new study looks at the range of chemicals used in the manufacture of tissue, their applications and the trends driving their development. Find out about:

  • The products used along the entire process of tissue and towel manufacture
  • Main suppliers and the regional differences in the industry
  • Legislation and regulations affecting the industry now and in the future
Essential reading for:

Delhi's Paperex 2007 a resounding success

Paperex 2007 was a resounding success with record participation and attendance for any conference and exhibition of its kind. If anyone questioned Inida's ability to develop into a significant global palyer in the pulp and paper industry this conference and exhibition will have dispelled all doubts. The availability of fibre sources (as is the case for China) will be a challenge, but other key components for success (people, investment, suppliers etc) will give India a great position to push ahead in the future.

The organisers of the event are to be congratulated!
