Update on Akzo's bid for ICI

The date by which Akzo Nobel must make a decision has been extended to 10am GMT on Monday, 13th August, 2007.

Akzo Nobel has confirmed that discussions and the initial due diligence continue. The take-over proposal remains at 670p per share, in cash.
