Nalco and Keystone Nano in Nanotechnology Venture
The Meridian Institute reported on a CNN newswire, that Nalco and Keystone Nano have formed a joint venture, NanoSpecialties, LLC. The JV will research and develop nanotechnology applications to improve Nalco's water and process treatment technologies.
"Nalco's previous work in nanotechnology includes the development of core-shell polymers for use in wastewater and process treatment in the papermaking, petroleum refining, mining, and food and beverage processing industries. Keystone Nano has licensed the production of customizable nanoparticles called NanoJackets that can function as a delivery system for specialty chemicals. "
the JV expect that nanotechnology will further improve the effectiveness chmical treatment programs and reduce the amount of chemical used.
