BASF start up new alkylethanolamine plant in Louisiana

BASF has started up a new alkylethanolamines (AEOA) plant in Geismar, Louisiana, USA.

This diverse line of chemical intermediates is being used in manufacturing pharmaceuticals and cosmetics as well as cleaning and crop protection agents. Intermediates are used in producing plastics and coating resins. Amines are also part of process chemical formulations used in water treatment, as well as paper, textile and leather manufacturing.
