Fraser Papers shuts off-machine coater

Fraser Papers remove 490,000 tons of coated paper from the market by closing an off-machine coater at its East Papers Mill in Madawaska, Maine. The decision is in line with the company’s move to focus on specialty papers, and pursue growth in specialty packaging and lightweight printing grades. The company is moving away from coated groundwood markets.
